You have left out how one creates the instance end points? Because obviously in real life one will not be using all the instances on the same machine?

Thanks for the videos. Let's say the mirror db becomes the principal and transactions occur. When switching back to the principal, are the new transactions that occurred on the mirror automatically synchronized on the principal db?

2 questions.After taking instance down and bringing it up why they have switched roles?and how the app or any client  should be configured since witness role is not for redirecting connections. Thank you very much for such a great video

This is the expected behavior. You will not be able to read from a mirrored database. If you are using SQL 2012, you can use AlwaysOn Availability Groups, which allows for read-only secondary databases. If you are using an earlier version of SQL, you can use log shipping rather than mirroring.
