In a comic storyline, Spider-Man and Hawkeye are patrolling Grand Central Station when Hawkeye starts shooting arrows at a no-smoking signboard. Spider-Man gets irritated and asks him to calm down, but Hawkeye continues shooting. Hawkeye boasts about his training and ability to never miss a shot. They then spot Sidewinder, and Spider-Man goes to attack him. Hawkeye shoots an arrow at Sidewinder, but it misses. Spider-Man defeats Sidewinder and discreetly stabs the arrow into his own side chest to avoid appearing incapable.
