does it has to be 12Gb SAS? can it be 6Gb SAS (LSI SAS9207 HBA)? had this HBA but never used... want to put to a good use in this tape solution...

Just a little toy LTO-7 drive. I'm installing an IBM TS-4500 with 10 cabinets and 108 LTO-9 drives in it. We installed four large Cisco SAN switches to manage the libraries data backbone. And then those are all controlled by a dozen Dell servers with TSM server instances installed on them. We're managing an exabyte of online data. You're toy is... well, a toy.
