Sad to say that you are right. Not many people are interested in the culture of Bali and that is the reason why we love Bali. The culture is amazing and Bali is such a spiritual place. The one thing we disklike the most is the beach clubs - hopefully Bali won't be ruined by too many beach clubs as it will lose its magic.

Bantu oblong, Echo Beach. I must find my photos. There were 2 little warungs, struggling, lots of paddocks and a few lovely cows wandering around. Our friend, Wayan was very reluctant to take us there. He hated going to Canggu even then. 1982....

Revolver does look like a good spot to have a meal of coffee, but I think the problem now of the ' LOOK AT ME CLUB' will follow the influencers so they can ' LOOK COOL TO THERE FRIENDS'.
AND THEY ONLY FOLLOW TRENDS :
LIKE A TYPE OF FEEDING FRENZY
and unless you are a new business your established business will be overlooked...
Very sad state of the Infuencers Phenomenan....If a business wants to survive it HAS TO REINVENT itself every 3 or 4 years to be current.
Its these type of Insta famous influencers that ARE ruining Bali for both tourists and locals alike...

Really good that they are starting this now before a greater influx of tourist comes for the hospital services.

Not sure why Motel mexicola needs to move in. Enough bars already and will take away business from the local run warungs at the front. Best place to sit and watch the surfers is Seaweed Resto.

Omg canggu changed a lot. Just 5 years ago it was a real indonesian road, open dirty road with a mix of semi barracks and homestays. I was lucky to visit Canggu when it was still originally populated by a bunch of crazy travellers
