Hearty Hungarian Goulash - Meal for One ep16

Показать описание
I got a request to make Goulash. It's my very first time making the dish but it turned out really good. The Hungarian paprika and caraway seeds were super fragrant. The smell as the stew was simmering was phenomenal. The dish is simple to make but requires a bit of patience in order to soften the beef so that it melts in your mouth. Give it a try and let me know what you think!
INGREDIENTS:
3 tablespoons butters
1 large yellow onion (chopped)
1/4 cup Hungarian paprika
1lb stewed beef
5 cloves garlic (minced)
1 carrot (diced)
1 potato (diced)
1 tomato (diced)
900ml beef broth
3 bay leaves
1 teaspoon caraway seeds
Salt & Pepper to taste
DIRECTIONS:
1. Melt butter in a dutch oven on medium-high heat
2. Once the butter has completely melted, add the onions and cook for 7-10 minutes
3. Remove the pot from heat and stir in 1/4 cup Hungarian paprika
4. Return the pot to the heat. Add stewed beef and garlic.
5. Cook the beef until no longer pink (Around 10 minutes)
6. Add 900ml beef broth. Bring the pot to a boil, then cover with the lid. Simmer on low for 1 hour.
7. Add carrots, tomatoes, potatoes, bay leaves, caraway seeds
8. Bring the pot to a boil, then cover with the lid. Simmer on low for 40 minutes
9. Taste. Add salt & pepper to your liking
10. Serve with sour cream and crusty bread
11. Enjoy
