However, the SP-BSP Alliance kept Congress out. The same Mayawati whose closeness to Sonia Gandhi made headlines is now sounding poll bugle against the Congress. Both Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati and the SP-BSP are considered a major part of the larger opposition alliance. So why the SP-BSP alliance turned down Congress' friendship offer?
