Decided to shoot in the dark. Its a 1978 Kenner brand X-Wing. The light on the nose actually worked too! Apparently they were only produced for a couple years, and are collector's items now.

The x-wing is a great example of how the wedge was a popular shape in the 1970's. A lot of cars, and even pocket calculators from around then too were angular and wedge shaped.
