the guy that scared the man and fell into a hole was one of the persons that we saw on the expedition team. There were 4 guys and then 3 and now 2. The fourth member seems to be the guy that scared the hell out of our man. the message at the end of the video that says "if anybody, blame him" directly points to the guy.

I like to think that the guy who fell in the hole wasn't a researcher but a wanderer that found some of A-Sync's research.

I reverse the text in 1:07 "if anybody, blame him" is what it says. He just manage to scare his partner to fall down the hole. Or maybe that is the guy that went ahead, heard voices to than is team disappear on him. He probably finally found the red line of his team. Before he got scared by one of his team into the hole. Or maybe he wasn't part of the team. It might of been some random guy that got clip into the backrooms.

The "researcher" who scared the protagonist had the infection on his boots and lower legs which to me points towards him being effected with the "disease". This would also explain his weird behavior such as when he hid around the corner at 0:13 then popped back around the corner behind the protagonist which led to him falling down the hole.

Interesting lore implications here. The yellow suit dude had some sort of corruption on the bottom of his suit/boots, like the kind found on victims of the bacteria... perhaps the bacteria is infectious, or perhaps this Async researcher got lost for who knows how long and slowly lost his mind, becoming infected by the backrooms themselves.

I mean, to be honest, if you're encountering an unaccounted unknown person in a place like this, I would bet money that, as an agent, it would not be protocol to introduce yourself to the stranger by surprising him/her in their back 3 inches from them while they're staring a hole in the floor.
