Grand dad had a 190 XT and I loved riding with him when I was a kid. Then driving it myself later. Truly an amazing tractor

I spent a lot of time on a 190 in the early 70's working summer fallow. We generally went through it three times over the summer. First time with a chisel plow, second time with a disk, third time with a field cultivator. If it was a wet year and weeds grew a little more we would hit it a fourth time with the chisel plow again with wide sweeps. I always did, and still do think they were a really nice looking tractor with that wedge shaped hood. And the orange color really looked sharp. I liked the big operators platform, the steering column and dash with the tach and gauges. And the side counsel controls were really handy too. The power director clutch worked really nice too. Then one day the hydraulics went to hell on it. They put a new pump on it, but it continued to have problems. I don't think they ever got the system completely flushed out because it seemed like every time there was a problem, it was from tiny filings getting stuck somewhere. So dad finally traded it for an XT. Loved that tractor. Then one day the dealer showed up in the yard with a 220 on the truck. "Demonstrators" they called them in those days. Dad had rented another 200 acres of land by then and we were having a hard time keeping up with the equipment he had. So dang if they didn't talk him into trading. Well, for that to make sense and get more work done he needed bigger equipment for behind it. He did trade his JD 100 series chisel plow for new AC chisel plow. Then he went to farmer retirement auctions and bought a bigger disk, drills and field cultivator. Turned out everything matched the size of the farming operation real good. He was even able to rent another 120 acres. 20 of that was hay ground though. He also had two D19's with F11 Farmhand loaders on them. One gas and one diesel. He absolutely loved those tractors with those loaders. And then we also had a WD45. I raked a lot of hay harrowed a lot of corn with that thing. What a rough riding sob across some of those hay fields! Awww the good old days.

One of my first jobs was at the Allis Chalmers warehouse in Chamblee GA. in the early 80's. We stocked all kinds of promotional stuff for the dealers. Made for great reading back in the day! Good job on the video!

Loved that one, as I have both a one ninety and a one ninety XT. I have probably baled 15, 000 big round bales with my XT over about 20 years time. First round baler I had behind it didn't have a good bale kicker, so many times, I had to back up before kicking the bale out. When it was warmed up good, and if I shifted fast, I could go between forward and reverse without stepping on the clutch and stopping the PTO; just with the power director in neutral. I have a net wrap baler now, so it's not as big of a deal, but back when I had twine tie, and it took a while to wrap a bale, it was nice to just have the power director in neutral and not have to sit there with my foot on the clutch while it was tying. Thanks for talking up a tractor that I love, but is bashed by many.

I worked for a farm that bought a brand new MF 178 to pull a IH 14" 5 bottom, was disappointed, went to an auction and bought a 190XT, didn't even know it had a set of plows behind it! Still going today! loved to D 17! 1969-72

Dad had an AC 210 (or was it a 220 - I don't remember) and that was a nice tractor. It wasn't the big field tractor but we used it for the lighter field work such as harrowing, planting, etc. Other than the AC needed to be recharged every couple years he never had a trouble with it. For the field tractor Dad had D-21 for many years and traded it in on an AC 7060. All good tractors.

My Dad and I ran a 1968 one ninety that we pulled a 21ft Krause offset disk with. It made quick work of that 400 aces of wheat stubble. Most comfortable tractor we ever ran.

My brother owned Allis Chalmers from the earlier years. Nice tractors.
The 190 was featured at the Orange Spectacular back in July.
Subscribed because I'm a sucker for old tractors.

My Dad had a 64 One Ninety & pulled a 5-14" A C plow or a 15' Keewany diskharrow! He had a ruptured disk in his back, but was able to do field work when other work became impossible because of his back! The BIG fuel tank gave him more than he needed for a days work! ONLY once do I remember, on a very COLD winter day, that he couldn't get it started❗

I have now seen you cover half of my dad’s fleet. Nicely done. We used our 190 xt as an auxiliary to our Ford 8000. Live to see a video on the Ford 901 Powermaster, which was a personal favorite of mine.

Just picked up a 190 XT hopefully it ends up being a good tractor but it definitely needs a little bit of TLC

You mention the LP version, I know a gentleman that has one, with snap-coupler hitch and belt pulley! Let's say he has some other 'interesting Orange stuff'!

Had one of each. Our 190 had the standard PTO and a Snap Coupler, which allowed it to pull the disk that we had for our WD-45. Our 190 XT had the independent PTO and a 3-point hitch, which matched our later tractors.

back in the 70's my father bought a new 190xt we loved the tractor until 8 months later all hydraulics and drive went out dealer warranty had fixed and fine for about 6 months and repeat 3 months later repeat. We finally bit the bullet and took it to our local JD dealer and had them repair (We were friends with owner) 190 went strong for many years after that so that shows either Allis dealer didn't care or not trained properly we never bought another even though we loved the tractors!

Dad bought a 190D pretty early. The serial number was a bunch of zeros and a 3. I had an XT. I also had a 210 and a 200.
