Bradley Beal has finally been traded and the Phoenix Suns won the deal. Most experts are coming down hard on this trade saying it is ultimately bad for the Suns but this is a look at why they are all wrong.

Wizards fan here: this is the final nail in the coffin from Tommy Sheppard’s dull incompetence, and we just gotta move on. The return’s not great, but our new GM has been the #2 under Sam Presti with OKC and I trust him to draft well. Finally a new era and rebuild time after waiting my entire life for it.

People have no idea how good Beal really is he should of been an all star every year

As a Pacers fan, Ayton is one of the least wanted players for us. We absolutely DO NOT want him! He's been terrible while Myles had a career year and arguably for the first time in hjs career is playing the role he's meant to play, while the Pacers arguably has some of the best chemistry of any team. Everyone gets along, never any drama, everyone does what they're told to do and there's no ego. Ayton would throw a wrench in all of that just while also downgrading our center position. Really the only thing we'd get out of it is that he's a couple of years younger.

The Suns need to improve their bench. They struggle during the playoffs and had to relay on Booker and KD to score most of the points. Yes, they added Beal but like it’s literally the three top scorers, Ayton, Cam Payne and the rest of the roster is determined on who they sign. Like they need a PG because neither Booker or Beal can’t play at that position. Also they brought a coach who’s mindset is defence.

What people don't understand about the trade is that the Suns basically have known they want to trade Ayton. And they knew they could get a few depth pieces for him, Chris Paul being old now and declining, was a huge problem...they literally got rid of that problem as far as them not getting back something for him...but then tada the Beal trade. It was very smart by the Suns to take advantage of having KD and Booker to convince Beal. It was a great trade. They were never going to get anything good elsewhere for CP3

4 Max players, 0 defense and the rest minimum players. This is gonna be a spectacularly fun disaster to watch. But if Ayton is traded for 2 defensive minded role players, then Phoenix is suddenly scary. Let's see how it goes

They're too small for Denver. Ayton assigned to Jokic. Durant to Porter Jr... Leaving Booker or Beal to guard Aaron Gordon. Aaron Gordon/MPJ are big problems to small ball lineups

This worked out horrifically for your take

IN MY OPINION. I think the media hate the trade except for Perkins because Denver won the Championship with only one star, border line all star number 2 and awesome depth. If Denver never won the Media will PREACH that Denver needed a second star or Jokic is not a number 1 option

Finally, someone can actually grasp the whole picture of this trade.

Little and Nurkic actually isn't that bad. Little is an up-and-coming 3-&-D wing currently under the radar, a perfect fit for the Suns' needs. 3-&-D wings are the hardest to find in today's league and Nas Little is a diamond in the rough. Nurkic has been expanding his range, so he could provide the spacing that Ayton doesn't. With KD and Book getting so much attention, some extra spacing could be helpful. Nurkic admittedly doesn't do much but rebound on defense, but Biyombo has been very good on D in his time with the Suns, and he could easily absorb more minutes. Also finding a different cheap free agent center who can defend, screen, and dunk off the roll might not be too difficult, if Biyombo isn't their guy.

The thing that most fans don't understand, they got Beal without trading Ayton. Now the main focus of the suns should be trading Ayton for depth.

it does make sense for beal though, the only team that put out a fight against the champions was the suns. dont mind the blowout, the stars was just exhausted.

I'm with you, This trade is VERY good. Payne is the better starting PG at this point than Paul & was able to drop CP3's contract issues. That is a GREAT starting 5, Payne will shine playing as a true PG. They can & WILL get free agents too, there's a million quality free agents out there. Idk how these "experts" don't see how much of a STEAL this is of a trade. Even if they do not trade Ayton, this is very likely the 2nd best team in the West, fighting for #1.

I think this is just the start though. They'll probably try to boost Ayton's value and ship him off for some depth mid season or at the deadline

When PHX matched Indy's offer Ayton couldn't be traded until 1/15/23, but also has a one year no-trade clause that allows Ayton to block any trade there after (cannot be traded to Indiana for one year).
