Hi, my name is Garold Williams. I also left a comment when you tested the Ember oven. I just mentioned that Konel and I both developed these products together. We have worked together for about 3 years!!!

I have 2 of these. They were an answer to my prayers. Now, I could be self-sufficient in an emergency. But I want to warn anyone who will listen that you cannot turn your back on these. The 4th time I used them, I went into another room to resume getting ready for the day. I was not gone 15 minutes, and suddenly the ear-piercing scream of my smoke alarms went off. The top portion of the Vesta had caught fire (I don't know how) and there were flames shooting out all 4 sides starting to melt the plastic handles. Black soot was rising up towards the ceiling. I was so scared, but I acted immediately. I grabbed the whole thing, trying to hold from the bottom which was less hot. But my thumbs had to hold it stable while I ran like a madwoman to the bathroom and threw the Vesta in the toilet. I know, not a bright idea. But it was the most direct way to extinguish the fire. Seconds later, I realized it had splashed and caught the toilet paper on fire, and worse, the shower curtain on the bottom (which was rising fast). I turned on the handheld shower spray and extinguished the shower curtain fire while simultaneously throwing the toilet paper into the bathtub to be extinguished also. My thumbs sustained some minor burns. Please, please, be careful when using this device. I will no longer be using the top fan portion at all, because I am slightly traumatized by what happened. I will use the bottom portion, and may even use the grate. But I will NEVER turn my back on it again. My situation could have been much worse. Please let this be a warning to everyone using the Vesta. It can be a Godsend, but PLEASE be careful!!!

Great video. I immediately ordered a Vesta, joined Sam's Club and bought 4 cases of fuel for 19.43/12 cans. I now have 5 alternate heating methods and 6 cooking methods. It was so nice to see you so proud of your son's accomplishments!

Fuel saver tip: Use a thermal cooker. Once the pot of food is boiling, pour into the thermal cooker; no more fuel needed.

Use aluminum foil to twist and fold into a roll to use as spacers between the cans to keep them from sliding around.

O. M. G. !!!! this is my answer! I live in Maine. We lose power 2-3 times a winter, and for days at a time. So, I've been looking for a safer heat source, and I can even cook, so no more cold food in a cold house! I'm excited! Thank you for sharing!

I found this heater when first introduced on Patriots website. It was on sale for $30 off. I immediately bought 2 heaters and safe heat still for $4.95 for a 2 pack. I bought 2 cases. Within days sales off and safe heat $12.95 for 2 pack. Glad I jumped on these items. I now have several ways to cook indoors and outdoors (depending on time of day and weather conditions) and several ways to heat in the cold weather. I own my own home but do not have a fireplace or wood stove. Thank you both for sharing all your knowledge.
