I think the fact the Next Semester exists says ALOT about where Tyler is at in his life rn. Tyler seems ready to talk about his mental health now with a good amount of distance from events that were traumatic. If the events suggested in Next Semester are true, I read these old videos as majorly significant to him, but flying under the rader to everyone else in his life. Now with Next Semester he seems ready to talk about a very dark period of his life. Tyler seems to resemble the driver in the car now. You can't change what you've done, but you can start fresh next semester. I have been part of this fanbase for nearly 10 years. I'm 24 now and this band is very different from when I was a sophmore in high school. I've grown with this band and simple things like this video have been recontextualized with distance. It gets easier to talk about traumatic events. You can get past "what you've done. " Most of all "cringe culture" is dead. Please don't feel ashamed by what you like. However you interact with this band is valid. I remember seeing this band on The Emotional Roadshow Tour, and feeling so grateful for all the people Twenty One Pilots has touched. It’s so beautiful and I wish he could have heard this song one more time and maybe just maybe he would still be here. When i was 16 i got medical conditions like Depression, social anxiety, panic attacks and much more..
