Thanks for not mentioning Vanderbilt. We just enjoy getting the SEC GPA higher

I wish the NCAA could just step in and make a bunch of 10/12 team conferences

They should honestly just separate football into its own conferences so it can keep rivalries with other sports intact and then also have football get their share of the money

I honestly do not feel like the SEC is going to jettison any teams. I just don’t see it happening.

Saying Michigan and OSU would abandon schools that they've shared a conference with for the last 100+ years, that also happen to be great basketball schools and exceptional academic schools is an absolutely insane take.

Good luck in ten years when it is just super conferences. You’ll be wishing you had the smaller, less successful schools to play. We are ruining what made cfb fun.

The B1G knows they're giving the same share to Rutgers for the New York TV market

I disagree. Equal revenue sharing has kept the SEC and Big Ten stable and prosperous. The unequal distribution and constant threats from Texas and Oklahoma were a constant problem for the Big XII. Change that in the SEC and you just end up turning the Texas schools into the same headache they were in the Big XII and Southwest Conference. (Frank Broyles said that Arkansas left the SWC in large part because of their fear that Texas would go first.) The SEC and Big Ten may keep adding, but I don’t see them changing the revenue distribution model.

I will never forgive Syracuse for ruining the Big East men’s basketball juggernaut so they could suck at football every season

I disagree somewhat, some schools stink at sports but bring in millions in research money or are located in areas which bring key media markets. Besides someone has to lose games.

Arkansas is historically a top 25 team in every big 3 sport. Football has be rough over the last 10 years but we still have several bowl wins in that time span. We also consistently advance deep in the Ncaa tournaments for football and baseball.

Greed will but be the undoing of college football

I think eventually the government has to step in and say its going to far.

I would kill to go back to the conferences as they were on NCAA 03-04. Big East with a few really good teams, ACC [usually] with 1 or 2 good teams, all the best teams weren't in the SEC, lol you had everything. I would much rather see a Pac 10, Big East, Big 12, ACC and SEC champ all get an auto bid, highest ranked group of 5 champ gets a bid, and 6 at large.

I miss the old bowl tie ins, players who played every game they could in their career and actually cared/wanted to win the Cheez It bowl as a senior instead of leaving the team to prepare for the NFL, it was just better and I dont care what anyone says.

No, it's because oklahoma and Texas looked around and said, why are we giving extra money to the rest of the little 12? We're out of here!

I see 1 of 2 things really happening:

Either an implosion from the greed and things fall back into 10-12 conferences all jumbled up and we're back to the 2000s but worse off balance wise, good thing if a 16 team playoff actually is coming eventually.

The schools finally petition the NCAA to make football, since it has no female equivalent, to be more of the Japan style of them being a club instead of a program in the school. Players would probably end up with 5 years instead of 4 with eligibility to keep money making talent longer and for guys who can bank on NIL deals but aren't good enough to go pro. The system of the teams becoming clubs is now they just represent the school but operating independently of the school. Not being chained down by being a student athlete as harshly.

Personally I think it's a good model and move since they already want to act like a semi professional league more and more as well as allowing the bad teams that can gain money to improve on field by not having to sell to a prospect they are going to live in bum fuck nowhere.

Now most likely the bigger cities would begin to dominate over the traditional powers in small cities but money can always change things. And if money is what they want, money is what they will chase.

Ultimately, FBS is doomed and if you want real college football, FCS and down has the product you're looking for.

Its also important to keep there to be good and bad teams in each conference, because if the good teams left the big ten then they would send some random bad team to the cfb playoff, so thats why, it just needs to have more good teams than bad teams. Also, I would think that conferences like the big 10 or the sec and stuff dont get split up because they have a lot of history

The SEC will only be adding! Not subtracting! It has a revenue share system that has been working!

The issue with this logic is the pac was offered like 35 mill per team when purdue was making 60 mil... there is a reason why they jumped to the big ten vs trying to pull 6 teams from sec, big ten, big 12.

It's more likely the p4 breaks away from ncaa than it is the big ten drops purdue or sec drops vandy.

I think you are possibly under stating the impact of basketball. Purdue has a great basketball program for example. The remade PAC 12 will have Gonzaga for basketball. These universities have other sports programs that are appealing as well
