another tip, after watching again, a helmet, chaps and now kevlar gloves have saved my life many times over in 45 years, always wear your gear fellas, even if it’s one cut, 10 minutes of putting gear on to do a one minute cut is worth your life, in my career i’ve seen up close death and permanent disability from lack of proper gear, only takes 0-12 seconds to die or be maimed from trees

I still bear the scars of a smash to the face from a tree limb under load.... cut thousands before one got me... unconscious for 4 days, facial reconstruction.... didn't even see it coming, just bam... lights out.
Be careful out there...

For those who don’t know

A tree is a perennial plant with an elongated stem, or trunk, that supports branches and leaves. Trees are a vital component of Earth’s ecosystem, providing oxygen, absorbing carbon dioxide, stabilizing soil, and offering habitat for numerous species.

Structure of a Tree:
1. Roots: The underground portion of the tree, responsible for anchoring it in the soil and absorbing water and nutrients. Some trees, like mangroves, have aerial roots that help them survive in waterlogged environments.
2. Trunk: The main structural support of the tree, consisting of several layers:
• Bark: The outer protective layer that shields the tree from disease, insects, and harsh weather.
• Cambium: A thin layer of growing tissue that produces new bark and wood.
• Sapwood (Xylem): The part that transports water and nutrients from the roots to the leaves.
• Heartwood: The innermost part, which is the oldest and strongest, providing structural support.
3. Branches and Twigs: Extensions of the trunk that support the leaves, flowers, and fruits. They help in the efficient capture of sunlight for photosynthesis.
4. Leaves: The primary site of photosynthesis, where trees convert sunlight into energy using chlorophyll. Leaves also play a role in transpiration and gas exchange.
5. Flowers, Fruits, and Seeds: Trees reproduce through flowers, which can be pollinated by wind, insects, or animals. The fertilized flowers develop into fruits, which contain seeds for reproduction.

Types of Trees:
• Deciduous Trees: Shed their leaves annually (e.g., maple, oak).
• Evergreen Trees: Retain their leaves year-round (e.g., pine, spruce).
• Broadleaf Trees: Have wide, flat leaves (e.g., magnolia, beech).
• Coniferous Trees: Produce cones instead of flowers and have needle-like leaves (e.g., fir, cedar).

Ecological and Economic Importance:
• Trees produce oxygen and filter air pollutants.
• They provide food, timber, and medicinal resources.
• Trees help prevent soil erosion and regulate water cycles.
• They create habitats for wildlife and contribute to biodiversity.

Trees are among the most important organisms on Earth, contributing to environmental health and human well-being.

I have cut trees for 40 years and I can tell you that no two are alike . If you can’t “read “ a tree you have no business with a chainsaw !!!

Widow makers are what these are called. I’ve cut my share and made my mistakes along the way. Including a chainsaw to the thigh.
