The Satluj River is a transboundary river that flows through India and Pakistan. It originates in the Tibetan Plateau and passes through the Indian states of Himachal Pradesh and Punjab, before entering Pakistan. In Pakistan, it flows through the provinces of Punjab and Sindh, before emptying into the Arabian Sea.It also flows near the city of Bahawalnagar. The Satluj is the longest of the five rivers that flow through the historic crossroads region of Punjab. It is also known as the “Lifeline of Punjab” due to its importance in providing water for irrigation and other uses.The Sutlej River is one of the five rivers that make up the Punjab region of Pakistan. It is the longest river in Pakistan and is also the easternmost of the five rivers. It originates in the Tibetan Plateau in Himachal Pradesh, India, and enters Pakistani Punjab close to the town of Uch Sharif. The Sutlej flows through the Cholistan Desert and the plains of Punjab before emptying into the Indus River near the town of Mithankot. The river is used for irrigation, hydroelectric power generation, and fishing.
