Today I'm painting a beginner-friendly landscape a beautiful late Spring, early summer scene inspired by my photo of trees on the South Downs at Devil's Dyke.
I'm using Millford 100% cotton cold pressed 140lb/300g weight paper, 11" x 15"/28cms x 38cms, and the following: ultramarine blue, cadmium yellow, burnt umber and paynes grey, and some of the following brushes: Pro Arte Ron Ranson hake brushes, Escoda Ultimo synthetic Mop brush, small calligraphy brush and 3/4" flat brush, but use what whatever brushes you are happiest with.

Really enjoyed that. Thank you. Good tip using hake for foliage. I'd never have thought of that. Really lovely painting and one I now feel I could try

I love this. Who doesn't love a tree? I can't wait to start it. I'm getting my arches today! And it's something that can be made your own! I like that you never overdo and keep it kind of abstract in feel.

Love your style of painting, it's the way I want to paint, I'm trying to copy lots of what you do, having marvelous fun, I'm 73years old, my daughter changed my password, to the painting fool, I laughed at her, but she said it fits me well, I paint every day, I got started a little late in like, but I'll never stop painting, it's costly but I don't mind, sometimes I have to save up the money, because I only want quality material, please never quit YouTube, it's the only way I can learn, I don't have much money, so please🙏 never stop.

love this. I am definitely going to give it a try. but I have to ask! does anyone else get a nails on the chalk board feel from scratching away paint? it just makes me clench my teeth so bad.
