I work with sql and c # text files. For comparison, I use "notepad ++" with the "Compare" plugin. It is more convenient in that it visually displays the differences between adding and deleting in different colors. Another plus is that in "notepade ++" you can set colors for different formats. In "Beyond Compare" colors are set for all formats, as well as differences in additions and deletions are indicated by the same color (
left side relative to the right and vice versa). Dear developers, please consider these important aspects. I like Beyond Compare with its flexible settings, but the above nuances are decisive for me.

I have some old files whose formatting has gotten screwed up. Instead of having the text on all separate lines, the entire text is sometimes on one horizontal line (as it appears in BC), or sometimes 2 or 3 lines (instead of, say, 40 lines). Can anyone tell me if there is some setting I can change to have the document render text vertically instead of horizontally? It's too difficult to do comparisons with a single long line of text. Also, sometimes no text appears at all. Any ideas on what could be the problem and what to do about it?
