Nice lil trick I learned for torn axles and or stuck axles. If you put the joint back in then use a pair of vice grips on the cup locking the axle knuckle inside you can then push and pull on the whole shaft using it as a migshift slide hammer. Just yank yank yank and it won’t pop out cause it’s locked in and boom Shaka-Laka you got yourself an unstuck axle

I gotta give props to your camera person for getting down there with you too. 👍

I had same situation on passenger side of accord v6 07. I used vice grips on the axel head then hooked that up to a slide hammer. It worked brilliantly. Just for future reference.

Get a sliding hammer with a vise grip attachment. Makes replacing cv axles so much easier

Recently did my first CV axle replacement for someone and suprisingly it went very well...until the ball joint needed to come out. I picked up a dead blow hammer but that thing was IN THERE and wouldn't let go of the control arm. used penetrant, a jack, hammer, pry bars etc. and it took forever but...the axle itself luckily popped out no problem. I got the experience and another driver is safe on the road. No charge btw, I kinda want my channel to be not just tool reviews and repairs but helping people that can't afford dealerships taking advantage of them..

Get a CV axle puller with slide hammer they're about $30, complete life saver, night and day difference pulling them axles.

Those can be a pain to get out especially if you can't get a good angle to hit it to get it moving. There is a pretty handy set up for a slide hammer to get them out too.

Invest in a a good quality air hammer especially for suspension . I took both my axles out in seconds with my stuck ball joints and tie rods from the knuckle. Obviously that’s if you’re taking out old suspension and replacing it only !

Put the axle back in. Lock a pair of vice grips on the cup. Yank the axle like a slide hammer. Done

For the Honda pilot put the shaft back in and use 2 vice grips on the outer casing to keep it from sliding back out, now you have a make shift slide hammer and just slide hammer it off. Someone showed me this tip and it works wonders for half shafts.
