The narrator said that after the banana tree bore fruit it provided no economic benefit. But that’s not true. In India, the trunk of the banana plant provides fibres which are used to make women’s sanitary napkins, for making paper, and also for disposable (eco-friendly) single-use utensils. The leaves are used as dinner plates in Southern parts of India, and new leaves are also eaten. Whatever remains, is deposited in compost bins, where first of all biogas (used as cooking fuel) is obtained, and finally, the remaining solid matter is used as manure. Thus, even after the banana plant has borne fruit, it is still economically valuable.

What people don't realize is all modern day bananas are GMO as the original bananas that people used to eat and even had wars over got killed off by a fungus and this is why banana candy tastes nothing like a banana you know because it's the taste of the old fruit.
