Great line:
Is the proof that love's not only blind but deaf

Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not and Favourite Worst Nightmare are true masterpieces.

I love the fact in the early albums you can hear his Sheffield accent so well, and the songs are full of slang from the area.

"And all the weekend rockstars are in the toilets
Practicing their lines"

One of those best lines ever written for a music is "So all that's left
Is the proof that love's not only blind but deaf" !

The band that changed my life forever.

Ah 2006. A time where Matt had longer hair, Alex's hair was messier, Andy was the bass player, Jamie was skinnier, and they all had acne.

I discovered AM first and loved it. Then I went back and listened to their older albums and loved them too. FWN is my 5th favorite album of all time in fact. That being said though I don't "hate" their new stuff and rather enjoy it. I think as a relatively new fan you don't have nostalgia clouding your judgement and can actually see and appreciate the evolution and diversity the band has brought over the past decade or so. This is one of the best bands in the WORLD, period. You guys should realize that.

Jesus Christ some people in these comments...
Alex Turner's going on 30 and you're still expecting him to act as if he's 19?
AM was a really solid album tbh, their old stuff will always hold a place in my heart, but Arctic Monkeys and Alex have changed their style now, you're just going to have to deal with it.

They were good back then and they're good right now. For some reason the majority of this bands fan base doesn't realize that Bands and their music WILL CHANGE a lot over a period of time. Every newer album has sounded different than the one before it (for instance, college rock to surfer rock, surfer rock to mystical/dark rock, dark rock to "american" motorcycles and stuff rock, from american "rock" to darker yet "smooth" or "cool" rock. It has always been rock, and it has always been different) And Alex turner actually got his haircut during suck it and see..and that's a good album. Besides that, it's a haircut nothing special so i don't see why people complain. Well fault finders will find faults even in paradise.

Fake Tales of San Francisco
Echo through the room
More point to a wedding disco
Without a bride or groom
There's a super cool band yeah
With their trilbys and their glasses of white wine
And all the weekend rockstars are in the toilets
Practicing their lines

I don't want to hear you
(Kick me out, kick me out)
I don't want to hear, you know
(Kick me out, kick me out)
I don't want to hear you
(Kick me out, kick me out)
I don't want to hear you
I don't want to hear your

Fake Tales of San Francisco
Echo through the air
And there's a few bored faces at the back
All wishing they weren't there

And as the microphone squeaks
A young girl's telephone beeps
Yeah she's dashing for the exit
Oh she's running to the streets outside
"Oh you've saved me, " she screams down the line
"The band were fucking wank
And I'm not having a nice time"

I don't want to hear you
(Kick me out, kick me out)
I don't want to hear, you know
(Kick me out, kick me out)

Yeah but his bird said it's amazing, though
So all that's left
Is the proof that love's not only blind but deaf

He talks of San Francisco, he's from Hunter's Bar
I don't quite know the distance
But I'm sure that's far
Yeah I'm sure it's pretty far

And yeah, I'd love to tell you all my problem
You're not from New York City, you're from Rotherham
So get off the bandwagon, and put down the handbook
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Get off the bandwagon and put down the handbook
Get off the bandwagon and put down the handbook
Get off the bandwagon and put down the handbook
Get off the bandwagon and put down the handbook

This is one of those rare bands that have every enjoyable element in their sound. A recent discovery I'm glad I made.

I just came by to remember my teen years and say thank you Arctic Monkeys for making me feel like a total badass listening to your music back then. Girls also thought I was cool when I introduced them to your album ;) Thanks for the memories <3
