I've seen videos of them plowing up IED's that exploded in front of the blade.

The driver said he felt a big thud but otherwise barely noticed it, until the guys on the ground radioed in to tell him. The dozer just kept on plowing forward like it never happened.

I used to be Combat Engineer and our Assault and Obstacle Platoon used these. There was a building in Iraq that they were supposed to take down it was 2 stories tall.
After a while of dicking around our operator became annoyed with the pacing.
He simply drove the D9 into the building and around the center of the building the whole building came down on top of the vehicle had concrete and rebar not fouled the drive sprocket he would have made it clear through. We had to move and chip away debris to get to him. When we did he was sitting in the cab just fine. With chew in his mouth an a pretty full spit bottle.
We had to go get a Mike88 or m88 tank recovery vehicle to pull the D9 out.
I know they were a little angry with him about it not sure how much trouble he actually got into.
Like he said though at the rate the were working it would have been a week. Now all they needed to do was spend a couple of hours pulling the D9 out in the morning and they were done.
Other than scratches and some gouging the D9 was fine. Crazy cool machine.

Excellent review. I was looking out for such a video, (on D9's), for quite some time. Thanks.

Do all these modifications void the warranty?

the Idf has launched a project to turn all these tools into a perfect robot without a human inside. And there are already some who are serving in Gaza right now.

First rule of fighting - don't fight the Israelis. There are also a D10 and D11(850hp, 110 tons plus) dozer larger than the D9 that Cat produces.

its the same up-armored D9 the US Army Corp of Engineers use.

These tools today are crucial on a battle field as much as the tank itself

They should have let Marvin Heemeyer design their machines.

The D9s are impressive. But the pagers are awesome!

Pretty smart for their landscape of war.

When you live where the Jews of Israel live, that looks like a perfectly sane daily commuter to me.

Israel knows how to build a bulldozer. This is what it takes to remain free. FJB

WoW . Just about exactly, the weight of a north american LOADED Canadian Super Bee semi. 7 axles, 4 tires each - plus 2 steering tire. 63, 500 KG. Approximately, 120, 000 pounds. ALL, WITHIN A FOOT of WHATEVER the track dimensions are. Divide that, by 120, 000 and you get poundage per square foot, of tracks. he ain't heavy = he's my get em Israel !
