OSCAR WINNER:Best Art DirectionBest Costume DesignBest ScoreThe oft-told tales of Arthurian legend have always been fertile ground for art. With countless books, films and songs on the subject, there have been many interpretations of Merlin, the Knights of the Round Table, the glories of the kingdom of Camelot and the doomed love triangle of King Arthur, Lady Guenevere and Sir Lancelot du Lac. However, Camelot, this 1967 adaptation remains the most iconic. Directed by Joshua Logan, and starring Richard Harris, Vanessa Redgrave and Franco Nero, Lerner and Loewe's moving and magical musical about King Arthur, Guenevere, Lancelot and the Round Table won three Academy Awards.

I fell in love with him in this movie. I like Richard Burton, but prefer Richard Harris singing the Camelot. He act like a joyful boy, his eyes are so innocent, oh, and his voice ...Vanessa was so pretty too. I liked the movie so much could watch it again and again.

The first musical I ever feel in love with but not the last. The minister's wife was a bit weirded out when she came over for coffee and found six-year old me playing in the sandbox and singing The Lusty Month of May at the top of my lungs!

i was alway so frustrated that she didn't love him back. i could never figure out what was up with her i mean her king was so cute to me (when i was a kid) and he was KING and he loved her i couldn't figure out what she was rocking the boat for. this move always frustrated the shit out of me as a child. i guess i was too young to understand any of this kind of thing. this movie always killed me because of that. id'a loved the king. my eyes would not have strayed. but i gotta say, i mean the music and the lyrics, so incredibly clever it is just astounding how clever the lyrics are and how they so much a part of the story and moving the plot forward.. but the story was so sad to me as a child. especially when we knew king arthur from a boy. how frustrating his wife did not love him in the end.

Vanessa Redgrave never looked lovelier. The song is among my favorites from films.

Oops, didn't get to the "leaves falling into neat little piles". One of Richard Harris' best.

I saw this movie in L.A., when the movie first came out, with my Jr. High School Theatre Arts class. What a grand experience that was. Ran right out and bought the album. Franco Nero . . . sigh.
