While a rigorous regimen of blood glucose monitoring coupled with daily injections of insulin remains the leading treatment, diabetics still suffer ill effects due to challenges with daily compliance and imperfect blood glucose control.

I’ve had type one diabetes for almost 20 years…15 of it I’ve had a insulin pump but after awhile the scar tissue accumulates where you put your sites. The problem I’m having now is the scar tissue is pushing the tube out of the skin…10/27/2021

What amounts to a glorified puncture repair kit is what is being proposed. What about Genetic resequencing of the immune system given it is the underlying problem, that is where the effort should be made, it will take years to make it work but at least that will offer a real cure.
