The COTSWOLDS in a Day (Unmissable Road Trip)

Показать описание
In this special bumper episode, we're presenting the ultimate guide to a road trip around the Cotswolds. We recently spent a few days in the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and filmed this fantastic episode to inform (and entertain) you all.
We start off in Cirencester, the largest town in the Cotswolds with a rich Roman history. It's also packed full of independent shops and a perfect place to stock up on supplies before heading out on your own Cotswolds road trip.
Then it was onwards to Bibury, home to Arlington Row, the most photographed street in the UK. This incredible row of cottages was the location for a viral news story in 2017, when a resident of the street had his car vandalised. The bright yellow Vauxhall Cross in question belonged to Peter Maddox, and tourists had taken exception to him parking on the road, 'spoiling' the view.
Mr Maddox received international support, and soon after, a yellow car rally was held through the town, with over 100 cars taking part.
Next up on our itinerary is Bourton-on-the-Water, voted as one of England's prettiest villages. It's not hard to see why. Often referred to as the Venice of The Cotswolds, the River Windrush flows through the centre of the town, crossable by five bridges dating back to the 17th Century.
Bourton-on-the-Water is also home to the UK's only Grade II listed model village, which is excellent fun to explore, particularly if you want to feel like a giant for a few hours.
We then head to Stow-on-the-Wold, once the capital of the wool industry in the UK. At country fayres in and around the village, tens of thousands of sheep would be traded, and the town was the epicentre for all things wool!
No visit to the Cotswolds would be complete without visiting Diddly Squat Farm Shop. This notorious location is where controversial broadcaster Jeremy Clarkson sells produce from his farm. It gained fame from the series 'Clarkson's Farm' (both series of which we binge watched and thoroughly enjoyed) and is now an extremely popular location on a Cotswolds road trip. Ensure you plan your visit carefully, as parking can be extremely limited and the queue to enter the shop or restaurant can be well over an hour.
We finish our tour in Chipping Campden, which boasts the second highest density of listed buildings in the country. In the centre is a beautiful Market Hall, built in 1627 to provide shelter for market traders.
