I saw this irl...where i live, there's a school that invited college professors to make this beautiful thing visible with our eyes, so they bought a hug telescope and then directly pointed it to the sun and projected it to a piece of A4 size paper and I was able to see Venus passing by the sun on that paper and felt so holy obliged to get to see that...i remember it was nearly the noon time of a beautiful afternoon

The sun is so much further away than Venus yet still looks that massive behind it. Crazy how unimaginably large the sun is. And then things exist that make the sun look like a grain of sand

I was 7 years old, but I remember watching this as if it was yesterday. My family got up at 5AM to watch it, and so many enthusiasts had set up telescopes that they gladly let us look through near the beach.
