Mario Galaxy 2 Kills 3 Hours of your Life...

I recently tried to 100% every 3D Mario game in 1 week. Doing this made me realize how much time these games can waste, especially Super Mario Galaxy 2..

people here don't seem to realize that the cutscenes are pretty much just load screens

Actually, something I've become aware of over the years is that a lot of scenes like these aren't the time wasters they appear to be.
If a developer went in and tried to remove them... most likely, you wouldn't save 3 hours. You'd have 3 hours of a black screen that says "Now Loading."
My mind was blown when I learned this is why the doors in Metroid Prime are so unresponsive. They only open once the next area has finished loading.

I remember when I was younger I would get really impatient with the loading screens, but some of the more difficult stars I would need time to decompress between them 💀

The only problem is that a burst of serotonin is produced every time you see one of these animations. Crazy to think I never got sick or even noticed how many cutscenes there are.

I live the cutscenes in galaxy. They make the worlds/galaxies feel further like im really traveling through space. It didn’t seem like it was too much or too little

I dont think its time wasted because those cutscenes make it feel like each star is an accomplishment, which is something I prefer over Mario odyssey's moons.
