I trip plan at 50mph also, however I Multiply My miles by 10%. And then divide that by 50.
1000 miles x .1 = 100
1000 + 100 = 1100
1100 ÷ 50 = 22 hour drive time.
The 10% is what covers areas where you may only be driving 35 miles an hour because of traffic or that may be the speed limit. It also gives you a little bit of cushion in case there's road construction or anything else like that. But that's not counting your 30 minute breaks that you still have to add in and also that's not counting for your mandatory 10 hour breaks. I learned that when I drove for Schneider.

My trainer isn’t teaching me any of this and he’s super lazy and basically became a trainer for the money. I appreciate this especially since I’m with Melton Truck Lines now.
