I love the audible groan coming from the parents and some of the other band students 😂🤣 Props to those parents who actually know what rickrolling means

My choir actually does this every year on Valentine's day, where we go around as small groups singing songs (including Never Gonna Give You Up) to anyone who paid for us to sing in their class that day. It raises money for the school and I get to rickroll people instead of being in class. It's really fun

I had a chorus concert before where we had to sing never gonna give you up and it was horrible

The kids started off in the key of G, and sounded like H. It took a lot of practice for these gifted young musicians to play very bad deliberately. Props to their music teacher for encouraging them. The kids had tremendous fun.

So true story, in my Orchestra we needed 1 more song to play. Other students were also okay with it so in concert day we rickrolledd 800 people who came to watch plus the 8 classes of people who did band, 4 4th grade orchestra and 3 other 5th grade orchestras. All the adults were cheering at that the most because they used to listen to it and the faces on the bands and orchestras was amazing. While I was playing Rick roll though a pole almost fell on me but I used my elbow to stop it and quickly went back to playing

Okay. I get that they are middle school students and all, but that did sound so bad and outta tune... I just gotta applaud them. Not for the sound of it, but for the fact those three practiced that together, and pulled it off successfully. I would never have had the balls to do that back in my middle school.years tho. ^^' Kudos to those kids. Keep playing, and I hope they sound even better when doing a hidden transition to that song in the future.

I give it kudos for actually being in the spirit of a rickroll. Just randomly hearing "Never Gonna Give You Up" is not a rickroll, you have to be trying/expecting one thing and then get "Never Gonna Give You Up" instead. These girls delivered!

My son, is a brilliant musician with perfect pitch, who plays in numerous ensembles and bands. He is also an elementary school music teacher. When I asked him how he can bear to listen to his students play, so out of tune, he said, "Everybody has to start somewhere." This is so true. Nobody starts out mastering an instrument or playing in tune...but with practice, exposure and ongoing coaching, these kids might become quite good. I salute this trio for agreeing to play in public, even though they are just beginners.

As a band kid, it is my duty to learn this at once-

I was a theatre kid in high school, and my last show was an 80’s cabaret. In one scene (planned with the director early on in the lineup), we had a group come out to prepare for a number. It appeared that it would be one girl’s solo, but she acted like she was afraid to go on and wouldn’t start singing. One of her close friends went to quietly give her words of encouragement and comfort, helping her breathe during this “stage fright” act. Then he snatched the microphone from her and the iconic starting notes of Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley came through the speakers. Everyone jumped to their feet to dance along with the two as he performed the whole song. It was fantastic.

I believe the girl who sang is said she had to tell warn her parents in advance so that they didn’t think she was actually having a panic attack or surprise solo or something haha

God I hope our school hosts a talent show one time… I’m an art kid but I love playing the harmonica, and I would die to play casually but rickroll as a warmup. Mad respect for those kids, must have been a crazy show
