1. The majority of internet traffic goes through fiber optics on land and undersea cables. For the few which use satellites as a relay, lost connections here is a normal occurrence and data can usually be automatically be rerouted via land line connection unless you are specifically using a satellite for out or reach areas.
2. Airplanes have radio tower beacon location backups. Also, they do not crash because they use air-air radar and ground radar. Their communications are line of sight VHF/UHF, not satellite based. GPS is used as a convenience, not as a fundamental requirement to prevent crashing or even flying. This even includes the automatic pilot.
3. Normal cell phones do not communicate direct to satellites, nor do the cell towers use them in general cities as these towers usually either have land connections to them, or, have tower-tower microwave connections.
4. Yes, satellite TV would be gone as well as all other form of satellite communications.
5. The end nuclear wasteland scenario is complete BS.
