Having been a Cyclist all of my life, I don't consider bicycles to be an "alternative" form of transport.
The bicycle is the single biggest invention in history to free-up the working classes, because up until that point (and the advent of the train) most people never travelled more than five-miles from their place of birth in their entire lives . Bicycles changed all that and gave people the freedom to travel greater distances, which they had never had before.
I think that we need to move away from the idea that riding a bicycle is something quirky and eccentric, and start treating it for what it really is; an affordable and sustainable, non-polluting transport choice for the masses; and as global fuel prices continue to rise, I think that we are going to see many more people riding bicycles as their primary transport 🚲
When our children and grandchildren are our age, they are going to look back at petrol and diesel vehicles in the same way as we now look back at steam trains.

probably true but if enough people start asking for that option, maybe businesses with change.

Why do you think even a tiny fraction of job situations have showers or support clothes changing? Ha!

Get an electric bike for commuting so you don't need to change clothes.
