I can't believe what Snapshot did to my engine!

Progressive Snapshot caused engine failure.
Directly after using Progressive insurance Snapshot I noticed a check engine light and next my car stalled at a stop light multiple times before I could make it home. So I use a obd2 scanner and found many codes for electrical problems. I will tell you the codes found p0138 for the oxygen sensor high circuit voltage bank 1 sensor 2, p0606 ecm/pcm processor, c1241 low battery positive voltage or abnormally high battery voltage. I have more codes but this says it can possibly be the battery, charging system or the computer malfunction, bad connection or wiring. Just check out the reviews for this device. Also from many others there could possibly be a class action lawsuit starting but you can check that out for yourself. The car was driven daily and the battery was new plus the charging system was working properly.
Always talk with a professional before trying anything seen or what you hear in my videos.

I owned a 2010 Crown Victoria and enrolled in the Progressive Insurance Snapshot program using the (OBD II) plug-in device. The FIRST AND ONLY time I plugged it in, the “Check Engine and Wrench” warning lights came on. My A/C was not cooling, so I put my car in reverse gear to check under the hood, and my engine died out. I had to have it towed and took it to Goodyear Auto & Tire. After several days of trying to diagnose and repair the damage, several sensors and codes were shorting out somewhere between the computer brain (OBD II) port and the dashboard. Goodyear could not determine the cause and the damage to my electrical system was beyond repair and was sold to the junkyard. As I prepare my lawsuit and National Campaign to warn 300 million consumers of the severe damage this product can cause, they have been hiding behind the law and violating the “Deceptive Trade Practices Act” for several years. Progressive Insurance admitted in court over 8000 complaints and 500, 000 in claim payouts against this device.

I dont even carry a tracking device disguised as a phone, besides I'm way too busy with the excessive acceleration.

We had experienced a full resetting of our electrics in Chevy Silverado, the first outing in the rig after plugging in the progressive device.
The speedometer stopped working or at least stopped displaying the speed. All other displays were reset.

Realizing the device was the only change we recently did, we removed it. Reset truck by unplugging the battery. So far, everything is back to normal. We will continue to monitor the trucks performance to make sure we don't have permanent damage.

Being a mechanic I would like anyone who has a scanner and reads codes... please don't clear them before bringing the car in for service. It makes our job harder not having the codes.

I just got mine in the mail today and decided to do research. This video has me very concerned. I have 2022 Carola with a 1.8 that I love, I have 70 more payments left and would like to keep her after I'm done paying.

I drive a 2015 lincoln MKT, i have never had any issues with it until i plugged that thing in. One day I was passing someone and my car went into limp mode and the engine light came on. I had to pull over and turn my car off and then back on and it luckily seemed ok. Then it intermittently hesitated when shifting gears. No codes at all. The dealership said i probably needed a new transmission (at only 119, 000 miles) and wanted $8000 for that🙄 I took it to my friend who unplugged the snapshot and reset everything with the Forscan software and it shifted fine after that. That thing isnt worth the meager savings i got from it!! I love my car and was devastated thinking I'd have to trade it in or spend all that money on a transmission already! I just pray no permanent damage was done in the time i used the snapshot device. NOT WORTH

No way in hell any insurance company is tracking my every move. I don't care how big the discount is.

Plugged into my 2017 Chevy Equinox and heard electrical crackling sound and instantly unplugged it. So far no mechanical issues fingers crossed but needless to say contacted Progressive and will not be installing, only wish I had heard about this prior.

It’s just a reader. It can’t affect the engine in anyway. It’s only job is to detect sudden acceleration and deceleration as well as total drive time. It’s never harmed anyone’s engine or electrical system.

Fact.
F150 in perfect condition . Check engine light came on .
Bank 1 lean O 2 sensor issue.
Rest code can back . After reset and t/s . Removed the snapshot area codes went away.
Just for kicks and giggles plugin in the snapshot again after 6 miles the check engine light came on.
Get rid off that Snapshot

You know that's odd. I bought Fixed I plugged it in my 2000 Camry. I put the app on my cellphone. I didn't drive with it in. Shortly after that I started having car problems. Before that I didn't have car problems. These things are just not worth it. They do more damage than good. Nate thanks much for this video.

I have several issues when using it in my 2014 Ford F150. It effected my fuel gauge and fuel range monitor, my odometer making it read a mile about every 10th of a mile and occasionally causing hard starting. It was causing it to not get fuel when starting. Fuel gauge sending unit and fuel pump is one unit in a F150.

GEICO shuttered all it’s doors in California
I just told my wife to dump them immediately. I wouldn’t plug anything into my vehicle if it didn’t come from the dealer.

It happened on your wife’s Scion TC, yet you’re showing “actual results” on a Hyundai.
