If I had to guess, Hughes is probably putting a plan in place if they don't improve over the next 5-6 weeks. He's not stupid and won't make any panic moves after a handful of games with a young defense that is still in development mode.

Dante Fabbro, hes right handed....when he does play hes on the top d pair with josi but healthy scratched here and there....i know the name isnt really a "top 4" dman but calling it....thats who they are going to get. 26 years old, signs of being a top pairing d man, and could probably get him for pretty cheap. Preds are in the dumpster right now at bet theyre looking for a shakeup, i can see an anderson going the other way with a third roundish pick....maybe a lower end prospect.

Maybe they should go after a player like, maybe, Johnathan Kovacevic. At one point the media was looking for a home for David Savard as well !

Cam York is someone I see the Habs being in the mix to get, he wouldn't cost as much as Andersson but his age and control until UFA might be factors that make him difficult to trade for.

If the Habs got some hard work and two way play from the top six forwards this wouldn't even be an issue. There's an awful lot of floating going on. Not to mention that atrocious power play. It's really tough to watch sometimes
