In this tutorial, you will learn how to change Background Color in inDesign.

I have open a layout I have created in InDesign. Now that my design is complete, I want to experiment with changing the page background color. Maybe this will jazz up my design a bit. But how? Changing the background color of a document in Indesign is very simple.

Under the Window menu, Select Color - Swatches

Next we must tell inDesign what we would like to change the color of. double click on Paper.

Adjust the CMYK Sliders until you arrive at your desired color.

Click OK and notice the change reflected in your document.

Awesome video I hate having to watch an eight-minute video to learn one thing. Good job.

I like that I don't have to watch half a minute of fancy lead in, half a minute of self-promotion and half a minute of hit that like and subscribe just to get a 10 second bit of info. Now then, how to make sure I stay up to date with new releases from these guys and express my satisfaction with this

This doesn't explain that when exporting to PDF the updated color goes back to white.

Simple and precise video. Still I wanted to know how to change background color of a one page. Entire spreadsheets change if I do this way. But thanks anyway.

Like most videos on this subject, THIS VIDEO IS INCORRECT. It does not tell you how to change your background color. It only tells you how to add a temporary background to simulate the color of paper you will print on. The instructions in this video will not allow you to export the background color as a PDF or any other document type.

Do not follow this advice. This is totally wrong. Changing the Paper color is just a simulation if you are planning to print on paper of a certain color. But this solution won't export as part of your document. This video is a total waste of time.
