Learn how to quickly change your Illustrator artboard color using two different methods. In the first method you will change the background color of every single artboard in your documents, while the second method will show you how to change the color of only one artboard at a time.

It is always easy to change your artboard color back to its original color, so do not worry about these settings being permanent.

You will learn how to use:
- Layers
- Illustrator preferences

Thanks! At first this didn't seem to be working for me, but for whatever reason, the document background color doesn't refresh until I change the zoom level. So after making the change in Document Setup, I zoom in and then out again to get the correct color to display. I hope that helps if anyone is having trouble with it.

You have a really good voice for this. It's really calm, but positive and inspiring

Unfortunately, this method doesn't work in new versions of Illustrator. And the second method is impractical if you're exporting artboards as you have to go in and start hiding things.

The first way doesn't work for me. There isn't the option to add the color by hex code.

When I simulate paper to flesh color, it makes the white parts of my art also flesh color? Whats weird is in the layers menu, the layer preview shows them as white but on the artboard those parts of the piece are not white?

Thank you for the tips! The Object>Lock>Lock Selection is exactly what I was looking for! PS the end of the video is blocked by the links to other videos. Thanks again!
