I use the 6SE on a Celestron wedge as my photography scope, and its very good. As the mount/tripod is the same for the 6 and 8, I feel like the extra weight of optics, flip mirror, autoguider and astro camera/DSLR is less taxing on the mount/motors. But Ive friends who've the 8' and report that theyve not had any weight issues, so I was being paranoid. I have a CPC-1100 that I use when Im viewing fainter DSOs, or want to cut my photo exposure times for certain targets. Anyway, I love the portability of this scope, and its more than adequate for a beginner/, intermediate, or someone that doesnt want to spend an hour setting up a large aperature scope, or carry a boat anchor out to a dark sky viewing area. Im rambling, so I'll shut up now. 😆

I have a nexstar 8 and 5. The best you can find at a reasonable price. I am happy with mine. Not looking for one better.The 6SE should be a very good telescope.

I really like the 6se but I wish they would finally update the dreaded display on the Nexstar series. Reading slow scrolling blurry words is not fun.
