Forget the politics; forget whom you think is right or wrong; I just see a man and a father acknowledging his own failings in an effort to repair his relationship with his child. I applaud his honesty and humility and I hope he gets his daughter back.

You’re not alone Rob. Not by any means. Praying for you, your daughter, and for every other parent out there who is going through the exact same thing. We’re all human beings and every single one of us fall short. We make mistakes. We miss the mark. There’s only one who was/is perfect. I’m not him, and I have many flaws. But not loving my son or my daughter was NEVER one of them. I’ve made some horrible decisions in my lifetime, and unfortunately both of my children want nothing to do with me as well. I have to put it in Gods hands every single day. But I have faith that he will rebuild every piece of this broken bridge. And when he does nothing will ever destroy it again.

My parents were 17 and 21 when I was born. They raised 4 of us. They tried their best with what they had and I know I couldn’t have done that at that age. By the time my mom was my age now she had a 14 year old. My 2 boys are only 6 and 2. It’s hard to raise kids and unless your parents were blatantly neglectful or abusive in any way, give them some grace.

I saw him at the bijou theater in Knoxville Tennessee about a month ago doing his live stand-up performance. He did a little talking, a little bit of storytelling, a lot of jokes and it was one of the funniest nights my wife and I have ever experienced.
