Vivaldi - Gloria - Laudamus Te | EMV

From Vivaldi's Gloria, sopranos duet the famous Laudamus Te. This concert was performed entirely by women, an homage to Vivaldi's time as a teacher at Ospedale della Pietà, an all-female orphange and music school in Venice.

Love this! Sang it in high school choir - back in the days when high schools had arts education - and still remember the lyrics of this and all other parts of Vivaldi's Gloria.

My mom, aunt, and uncle would often play for this orchestra before the pandemic. I have crystal clear memories of sitting in on their rehearsals for hours as a small kid. I would let the music sing into my soul. They are some of the sweetest and most interesting childhood memories I have. <3

I happened upon this recording around 4 years ago while looking for another arrangement of this song, and it is still one of my favourite performances. I haven’t been able to be in choir since I started college but this video holds everything I love about singing. Brava to you both!
