Holy Molly - Based on your video, I tried 2 sets of parameters (D50 / L* for printing, and D65 / gamma 2.2 for everything else), and what a difference these 2 sets of param make. I know I am stating the obvious, but still. I want to test print now. I had to order ink for my printer as I ran out. As soon as the ink arrives, I'll print some test based on these 2 sets of parameters.

That was an excellent presentation. I appreciate the "why" explanations besides the "how." I use a color management workflow. I am about to upgrade to a new BenQ monitor (probably the SW272Q) so I find this information useful and relevant. BenQ's software has more features and settings than what I'm using from Calibrite for monitor calibration. However, Calibrite's can create paper profiles when used with a spectrophotometer to read printer color test patches. I like the convenience of being able to switch between profiles, one for LR/PS/printing and the other for web browsing or games. Looks like a win-win to me.

Excellent mate! Really well explained and presented. thanks so much for sharing. A slightly 'dark art' now makes much more sense! 👍👍👍

No mention of failed validation. That would have been great to understand why I always seem to get that for the first few attempts every time I calibrate… besides that, probably the best and to the point video that explains the process.

Thank you 🙂👍

Great video Glen, full of very technical advice. I have a BenQ monitor and I will now get the new BenQ calibration tool and give it a go. I am very critical about my print and always looking for the best way for monitor to print perfection. Thanks.

Thanks, Glyn. always understand stuff better with your clear way of explaining things. Your great review of the Xencelabs tablet encouraged me to take the leap.. an in-depth video on how you set up and use it along with the quick keys would be a brilliant idea...
Thanks mate 👍

Glyn, excellent video as always, is it safe to assume you have Adobe RGB set in your camera ?

In my opinion you could also set Palette Master under Gamut: Native and not AdobeRGB, then nothing needs to be "bent"

Great video Glyn, I’m heading off to recalibrate at D50 immediately.

Nice video but couple questions. What was the process you did to figure out the right luminance? The second question is more around the icy profile for printing. At this point I'm using Canon professional paper and their standard IC profile for the type of paper. Are you using your custom IC profile instead of your paper profile and if so why and what should I know about? Thank you.

HI Glynn, when will you be doing the other PMU videos. Im eager to find out more on Advance Colour Adjust which I cant find anywhere else on Youtube. PleaseI used the same setting for my 321C monitor and the prints are great. Thought the 60 candela settinmg was quite dark but now set in my Calibration 3 setting on the puck. Thanks again.

Hi Glyn, great video! One question: I notice you chose Adobe RGB as the gamut however I have seen other videos where Native panel has been used due to the wider gamut. Have you any thoughts on whether the native gamut gives better monitor to printing results?
