DIY Off Grid IBC Tote Water Storage
12-volt Water Pump

Awesome DIY off grid water storage using an an IBC tote and12-volt water pump to make portable water source to fill Camp #216.

This is an awesome water storage idea. We are used an extra car batter, a 12-volt water pump and an IBC water tote to make a portable off grid water source for Camp #216 until our well gets fixed.

In this video I am answering a viewer's question about how we fill our IBC tote off grid water tank for Camp #216. It is a little bit of work but well worth the effort! I love opportunities to answer viewer questions so keep them coming!

This water storage system using an IBC tote is working out perfectly providing temporary water for Camp #216 until spring when our well comes back online. The well is fixed but remains winterized until spring when we will be moving to a more permanent solution proving full time water for Mountain View Ranch. In the meantime, this 275 gallon IBC tote and 12 volt pump water system is providing off grid water for Camp #216. We fill it up at a local water station for 25¢ for 82 gallons of potable water.

Thanks for watching!

Camp 216 home base is Mountain View Ranch in Southern Oregon. Camp 216 is not your regular travel trailer or RV camper! Camp 216 always gets strange looks while on the road and many inquiries for a camp tour whenever we pull in to a camp site or pull in to fuel up Big Red, our Ford F-350 tow vehicle.

Camp 216 is an ultra-comfortable and completely self-contained four-season modern travel trailer modeled after the old nomadic sheep camps or range camps used in the sheep and cattle ranching industry. These camps are roomy and rugged. While built to withstand the rigors of off-road travel in a rugged ranching environment, they are equally comfortable on the open road. These camps are fully self-contained with four-season off-grid capabilities to keep you comfortable under all conditions.

Our original builder, Timberline Range Camps, is no longer in existence. If you are interested in a range camp like Camp 216, the awesome guys at Peak Range Camps located in the beautiful mountains of Utah will make you a customized range camp that you will treasure for generations! Call (435) 262-0601 and ask for Mike or Weston Wheeler. They are the guys that built Camp 216!

True four-season comfort includes robust insulation, a forced air propane fired gas furnace and a wood burning stove to keep you warm when it gets cold and an air conditioner to keep you cool when the temperature soars. Lighting includes LED and a propane gas lamp. Off-grid power is provided by a set of solar panels connected to solar charge controllers and a deep-cycle battery bank. Systems redundancy keeps these camps operational and comfortable in harsh environments and also make this the ideal travel trailer for both open highways and off-road adventures.

As always an entertaining video Dave. I suspect that soon there could be an IBC Tote connected inline to a downspout off of the barn roof rainwater collection system. Wishing you and Beth the best. Press On!

Doc, I enjoy your videos for many reasons. But one of them, because we are like minded. Some day I hope to have a property like yours, and develop it the way that you are. And I want a camp trailer too! Kind of a strange thought. And maybe you and Beth have already had it. Do you set up the camp kind of situated in the same place you hope to build your home? Good way to get a feel for the sun light, wind, and even the "ambiance" if you will! Before you finalize plans and start your build. I know. I need to get back to flying! Still on disability! I have way to much time to come up with this kind of stuff! ;)
