Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to the simulation of human intelligence processes by computer systems. These processes include learning, reasoning, problem-solving, perception, language understanding, and decision-making. AI can be categorized into two main types:

1. **Narrow AI**: This type of AI is designed to perform specific tasks, such as voice recognition, image processing, or playing a game. Examples include virtual assistants like Siri or Alexa, recommendation systems on streaming platforms, and chatbots.

2. **General AI**: This is a theoretical form of AI that possesses the ability to understand, learn, and apply intelligence across a broad range of tasks at the level of a human being. General AI is not yet achieved and remains a topic of research and speculation.

AI technologies encompass various subfields, including machine learning (where systems learn from data), natural language processing (enabling machines to understand and generate human language), and computer vision (allowing machines to interpret visual information from the world).

AI applications are widespread, with use cases in healthcare, finance, autonomous vehicles, cybersecurity, robotics, and more. The evolution of AI raises important ethical considerations regarding privacy, job displacement, bias, and the implications of autonomous decision-making systems.
