The recent survey from my community tab has shown that 69% of you are playing pool for less than five years. That's why I decided to make a video, where we go back to the fundamentals - I hope it helps. And for the more experienced players: Don't worry, I will do an advanced lesson soon!

Your teaching videos always help me slow things down and keep things simple. I have actually played your videos on my way to league night which helps me play with more confidence. Huge thanks to you Sharivari

That statistic is a compliment to your teaching skills. How ever experienced you are the fundamentals are the most important part you will not improve without them.

Using the open bridge crease between thumb and finger to get my cue on the baseline properly might be just what I needed to help improve my stroke. I'm going to test this out tonight.

Like how you demonstrated the essentials needed to be prepared to successfully pot.For example foot and cue placement, bridge making for cue placement on the hand etc.

I thought it great that you added the floor graphic for this video. You keep "stepping" up your video production (pun intended)! For the long straight shot finding center ball is crucial. Noted how on your first attempt how the cue ball drifted to the right... and you knew it wasn't quite right. And in the second shot where you went through your more regular-timing routine, the cue ball almost stopped dead in its track and/or in a straight line. Just as you would expect. Finding center cue ball increases in difficulty the smaller diameter shaft size you have. Many strong players will begin the pre-shot routine by aiming at the bottom center of the cue ball and then delivering on their final push through stroke at the last second. Would be interesting to hear from Sharivari on how he ensures he is "center ball" on his aim and stroke. Definitely practicing to ensure you are hitting center ball by hitting from the "center foot spot" (where you place usually the one ball on the rack) and then hitting center up table to see if the cue ball will return exactly to hit the end of your cue tip is one good way. If the ball hits the far rail and comes instead slightly to the left or to the right, then time to practice finding center ball! :)

Thanks for coming up with some fundamentals. Last weekend we had a two day workshop with Tom Damm and he showed me my flaws in my fundamentals. Lots of work for me to do 😊
However, I slightly disagree with your open bridgehand. In my opinion the thumb and the knockle of the indexfinger are supposed to build a v-like shape to guide the shaft. And therefore, it doesn't matter, how fare you spin that hand. I feel more comfortable to have a straight wrist.
Compare it to an external bridge. It doesn't really matter, if there is a slight angle to the shaft, you have to place or hold the external bridge comfortably. But maybe I'm totaly in the wrong 😉

Do you have any videos about maintaining a table? Thanks

When you go down for the shot, do you have a bended knee?

How does one determine which hand to use to bridge with? I write with my right hand, but I shoot with both hands when playing pool. I have noticed certain angles are easier to hit when bridging with my right vs my left and vice versa. Sometimes feel more confident with bridging with my right but I have been told to bridge with my left instead. Any advice?

On the bonus video, I aimply do not have the chops for that shot he made. Could you do a video on defensive play in the future?

very nice video, i love it! But i have one question, iknow that with back hand english with the right pivot length I don't need to adjust for aiming, but sometimes i still miss it. Do you recommend just aim normally and then do a paralel shift?

Nice presentation.. Bro I have just noticed your explanation is Left handed... meaning what you are doing is opposite for the rest of us.. but that is OK we can adjust to the opposite.. please correct me if I am wrong.. cool vid Sharivari👍
