Have been watching your videos since I was just a kid into planes, surreal to be watching you for my CFI checkride prep. Thanks for years of service Jon!

Thanks for doing this! Just got the "Have you called an examiner question?", so the ride is getting close!

I'm currently a truck driver/aspiring student pilot. Hoping to start my actual flight training this October. Fulfilling a lifelong dream at 49 years of age. I've quickly realized from my past job experiences I do really enjoy imparting knowledge and seeing others grow. I now realize that an excellent way to fulfill that enjoyment and earn money to support the habit of my lifelong dream of flying, would be to become a CFI. I'm glad I found your channel and the information you bring does help to connect dots and solidify the things that I'm going over through the aeronautical handbook. Many other great resources as well.

I know I do have a couple hurdles right out of the gate to jump as far as getting my medical cert. Sounds like I'll be needing a special issuance and that sounds like that could take quite some time to clear.
Got to love government pace.
I also know that I won't be teaching anyone until I'm confidently competent.
I have no idea just yet how long this journey will take me, but I know one thing for sure, you never know how far the ball will go until you kick it!
Thanks You for this awesome informative and inspiring channel.

Just passed my CFI checkride on the 7th of April. It's surreal to be on the last to use the PTS. No ill-will to those coming after me getting to use the ACS. Its sounds much more reasonable and should reduce the checkride cost significantly.

My CFI checkride got moved from 30may to 5jun, and so I had to in the middle of checkride prep, go from pts to acs. Not a big difference, but big enough to have to put my binder in a different order

in the airplane flying handbook it says we should be able to make the slow flight turns to 20 deg

where does it say that we can use pre-maid lesson plans?

Greetings from Florida, I love your channel!

I just have a question about the FOI section of the ACS; are lesson plans allowed? It doesn’t expressly say so, but it does say that the applicant should “provide effective instruction”, which kind of requires a plan of action (a lesson plan)

Does this affect the CFII checkride? I ama currently studying for that, passed my CFI initial two weeks ago

Are we going to get a new CFI mock oral based off the ACS? Your original video was fantastic.

I took a Discovery Flight recently and here is a question if you'd be kind to answer. The flight instructor was super nice, but the plane (172s Cessna with G1000) was beat up. The dash material was completely ripped off, right hand tire grooves had dry-rod. The tire on the right did not match the the tire on the left. The HDG on the dash was not working as it had a Red cross mark .The plane was was super dirty inside and out. And, they told me that they only had (1) 172S out of (5) in running order. Should I be concerned?

I notice your site still has the understanding the PTS course for CFI, when do you expect to have that updated?

Hey, regarding slow flight.. didn't you miss the fact that they added a completely new slow flight maneuver to the CFI ACS? Under Task X.B, one of the skills is to maintain an airspeed at which any increase in AoA would result in an IMMEDIATE stall (so flying at minimum controllable airspeed basically)... Skill AI.X.B.S4c

Hello, sir. I'd like to take your advice. I have two options where to go: Pilot and engineer. But I won't be flying in the US, so a 120k+ salary is out of the question. After analyzing the data, I realized that working as a FO I will get a little more than the average salary, if not less. But a pilot spends 100k on training, 1500 hours of flight time, carries 200 lives, can lose his job due to health at any time, and spoils it throughout the job. What do you recommend?🙏🙏🙏

My CFI checkride is May 28th. If we do the oral and then get weather canceled… do I then have to retake the oral because it will switch to ACS?

The old girl looks great. Never thought that I would see an aircraft that I loaded many times turned into living quarters. Not a pilot but I follow a lot of aircraft related channels. Take care and stay safe. Where’s the hot tub for the wing of 888DG?😊

I have to say, I love that PPL syllabus! That's great work and really well thought out. Do you have a comparable version in the works for IRA and CAX? The current IRA doesn't have that same evaluation system (bubbles) and proficiency stage designator (prop blades). Great idea!
