US Senate Clears $40 Billion in Ukraine Aid, Sending Bill to Biden

The Senate passed a more than $40 billion Ukraine aid package on a bipartisan 86 to 11 vote, sending the bill to President Joe Biden for his signature.

The legislation is significantly larger than the $33 billion aid package Biden requested last month but received overwhelming support.

“The message this sends is that the United States is committed, that we are going to stand with any country that is a democracy when there is an autocracy that attempts to overrun it,” Idaho Republican Jim Risch said. “Ronald Reagan spent eight years bringing down the Soviet Union and freeing the countries in its orbit. We are not going to abandon the effort he made. We are all in.”

It's so wonderful to see our representatives in government not giving a single shit about us or the skyrocketing inflation.

It really amazes me how fast they can help another country but they can’t help their own people it’s truly disgusting

Absolutely insulting to struggling Americans. $40B is not going to end the war, it will just prolong it and Zelensky will demand more, weeks later.

I remember the absolute meltdown they had when it came to giving American citizen their own money while we still need it. Took months just to do 1 check.
But as Joe said “America fist is dead” so we’re the only country on earth that places non citizens ahead of their own.

This is so absurd, what about the sky high gas prices here in America 🇺🇸 cuz of the sanctions against Russia in favor of Ukraine? We could’ve use this $40B to at least ease that burden of super high gas prices here.

At a time when at least half of America can’t afford a full tank of gas….. This is nauseating

Meanwhile in America, gas and food is too freaking expensive, baby formula is non existent, middle class businesses are bleeding out and stocks are nose diving. Yea, good call you freaking out of touch, self righteous, spoiled politicians who still don’t have to cut a single luxury or at the least pinch a penny to make sure their able to afford the basic necessities!

What a joke. Just keep printing money it will be alright. I'm so tired of seeing my fellow Americans and my tax dollars be wasted on the most absurd things. It's time to put a foot down and push for term limits.

They are funneling that money to their account I’m so tired of this shit— we Americans are working our asses off and paying these high ass taxes and can’t get our people reparations-this is fucking ridiculous
