1960s Commercials and Vintage Commercials

A compilation of various commercials from the 1960s. 60s commercials weren't too interesting I think.

Crest Toothpaste Commercial
A drama-like commercial advertising Crest.

Alpha-bits Cereal Commercial
A cartoon for alpha-bits cereal. Brown sugar!

Swing Wing Commercial
This is a commercial for a child's toy called "Swing wing". Really wacky and I wonder if anyone actually played with this. 1960s toy commercial... I feel sorry for the kids!

Larry the Lion commercial
A 1960s toy commercial featuring the toy Larry the Lion. The legendary Mel Blanc voices the lion in this commercial!

Polaroid Swinger Commercial
A commercial for polaroid's mobile "swinger" camera. Looks pretty cool for the time.

Suave commercial
A commercial for suave hair lotion.

Roto-Rooter commercial
This is a pretty sad commercial because the guy is a jerk to his wife. I still think the name Roto-Rooter is hilarious.

Mrs. Butterworth's Syrup Commercial
This syrup commercial is simple. Makes me want to eat pancakes, though!

Honey Grahams Commercial
Nabisco Honey Grahams. Featuring a friendly house wife that is popular with all the neighborhood kids because of her snacks.

Nyquil commercial
A commercial for the famous Nyquil cold medicine.

Had a Swinger in 1966...novel item! Each film roll contained about 8 shots and you DID need to coat each print with the sealer stick or they'd soon fade away. The film was expensive, but I still have pix from the mid-60s today in good condition. Quite an advanced thing for the 60s!

They have a warm charm of old different times. I can appreciate that.

The Polaroid Swinger was awesome. In the commercial they actually told you the price AND sang the instructions to you. Nowadays they don't do that anymore.

The Polaroid Swinger. Only $19.95. What you may not realize is that $19.95 in 1965, adjusted for inflation in today's dollars would be around $190.00. Not kidding.

The Swing-Wing is hands-down - and heads-up - the weirdest toy ever put on the American market. Still, for perspective, at the 1988 Olympic opening ceremony a troupe of Korean dancers swung just a headgear in time and unison. They were part of the cultural show.

My father gave my mom The Swinger for Christmas. He was taking all the pictures. LOL! Didn't know Ali McGraw was in commercial. I was born in 1959.

Why is it that I can still sing the Roto-Router jingle after 50+ years, but I can't remember what I just got up to do? 😁

Always fun picking out celebrities in these commercials. The lion one, the little boy played Jody in Family Affair. Then there's Ali McGraw in the Swinger commercial

I guess the Swing Wing explains why Washington D.C. is the way it is
