Brisbane-based illustrator Sophia Mary Mac creates an illustration at the Ironlak Studio in Brisbane, Australia.
Sophia says her unconventional upbringing across far far north and west Queensland has impacted her artistic practice and deepened her understanding of the importance of the natural environment and the vital role it plays for humans. Most of Sophia’s work is focused on Australian flora and fauna and the manmade destructive forces that are impacting our natural environment.
Sophia uses Ironlak Technical Drawing Pens and Sketching Pencils to create her intricately detailed monochromatic pieces. “I really like and trust Ironlak’s technical drawing pen range,” Sophia says. “One of the reasons I want to stick to their products is their involvement in the art and design community. As an emerging artist I really appreciate that and how it helps young people express their creativity.”
