Pakistan has kept its main border crossing with Afghanistan closed for a second day, following clashes between the countries’ border security forces.

A curfew was imposed along the Torkham border after the skirmishes killed an Afghan police officer and a senior Pakistani security officer.

Kabul has accused Islamabad of harbouring rebel fighters, while Pakistan says it's building a border gate to prevent the fighters from crossing over.

Al Jazeera’s Kamal Hyder reports from Islamabad.

No gate between Durand Line. The land belongs to Afghanistan. Make a gate at attock before entering Punjab.
