Thanks, Premier Moe, for standing up for Saskatchewan and all Canadians. The Trudeau Liberal carbon tax is just another Liberal idea to tax Canadians more. The Liberals designed the carbon tax to extract the most money from Canadian households. They added sales taxes to their carbon tax. The Liberal carbon tax currently at $80 per ton of GHG emissions will rise to $170 per ton of GHG emissions by 2030.

"The revenue from the carbon tax itself is required by law to be returned to households and businesses through rebates and granting programs.
But that does not apply to the sales tax, which is collected on top of the carbon tax.
The PBO estimates that it will be worth about $600 million in 2024-25, rising to $1 billion a year by 2030-31 in parallel with increases to the carbon tax itself.
In total, that could amount to $5.7 billion between the beginning of this April and the end of March 2031."

Let's look at other countries and their carbon taxes and their GHG emissions :
-China contributes 30.1% of world GHG emissions, a carbon tax of $10 per ton of GHG emissions
-The USA contributes 11.25% of world GHG emissions. The USA has no national carbon tax, only 8 US States have a carbon pricing scheme.
-India contributes 7.8% of world GHG emissions, with a carbon tax of $2 per ton of GHG emissions.
-Canada contributes 1.41% of world GHG emissions. A carbon tax of $80 per ton of GHG emissions that will rise to $170. per ton by 2030.

I still pay carbon tax for my heating. Seems unfair that some people don't have to. I understand what you're trying to do and applaud that, but still sucks that I have to pay it. In fact, if we lose the court battle with Ottawa and have to send a cheque for the amount they think we need to pay....guess what....I'll have to pay that amount through my taxes, essentially making me pay even more for carbon tax. It's time for us, and Alberta to seperate from Canada.

I'm from NB. Sadly, Higgs has been voted out. He has been a wonderful leader of which most NB's like. I've heard that the new commers to NB brought this new government with them.
