Idiocracy was genious when it was made. I watched it off the cuff, without knowing anything about it about 10 y. ago and was floored and howled up laughing. Now... I couldn't watch it. It's happening under our very eyes.

Wes Anderson's first 3 films were Bottle Rocket, Rushmore and The Royal Tenenbaums. I'd put those up against any director's first 3. Tarantino, George Lucas, Ridley Scott also came out the gate really strong - to name a few.

'Idiocracy' is not the best example since, in essence, it's a great concept with flawed execution.

People don't walk out of a movie because they aren't in the mood for it. That only happens when they truly despise it. There's a small minority that really likes this movie, but most people do think it's incredibly bad.
