In this video I show you how to automatically resize columns in Google Sheets by using "Fit to Data", so that the column width adjusts to fit the longest string of text in each column.

However, is there a way to really "automatically" resize columns. Like after you type in the cell and the data is very long, so it really automatically resizes the columns? Vs. you having to 'fit to data' again, manually, every time the data is bigger.

Thank you so much for this tip. The problem I am facing is after expanding the columns, when I try to edit the content of any cell, the column gets fully expands to the right, hiding all the other columns and cells adjacent to it. Can you please help me how can I not expand the column fully vertically and edit the content of the cell within the expanded column, it sounds a weird problem becuase I was also not expecting this after expanding the column, Please help me
