Triad LiveLung Meeting - October 7, 2020 with Dr. Justin Favaro

Justin Favaro, MD of Oncology Specialists of Charlotte, PA, will discuss his research and new advances in immunotherapy and targeted therapy for lung cancer. Dr. Favaro is an investigator for a novel lung cancer trial involving a device that delivers Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields) to cancer in the chest. After receiving an undergraduate degree from Clemson University, Dr. Favaro earned both an MD and Ph.D. from the Medical University of South Carolina following an eight-year, dual-degree program. He completed his internal medicine training at the University of Texas, Southwestern in Dallas, and his fellowship training in Medical Oncology and Hematology at Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Favaro is board certified in both Medical Oncology and Hematology. Dr. Favaro’s research experience includes basic science work in viral replication and tumor cell growth as well as clinical research, focused on trials that are testing new drugs for the treatment of cancer. He co-authored a book on pharmacology and authored multiple articles in peer-reviewed medical journals. Dr. Favaro is the principal investigator on several active clinical trials.
